Monday was a bust – 1.5m in and I noticed quite a wiggle in the back tire. I limped back to the office and had a look. The wheel was flat busted. I headed off to the friendly LBS and they had it fixed quick – a new wheel and back to business.

Tuesday had me ready to get back after it. I decided to conquer my fears and pickup Ind. 62/111 at the western tail of Main Street. It always looks menacing. It turned out to be not too bad at all. I repeated a portion of Corydon Pike I have ridden before and plunged past that spot into the unknown headed to Edwardsville. The unknown turned out to be a massive (for me) climb of roughly 400 feet spread over almost two miles. It was quite a beating and I was heaving by the top. I was soon rewarded with a good reasonably car-less flat spot that was chased with a lot of downhill action. It ended up being a great 15 mile lunch ride. It is interesting how many high dollar neighborhoods ypu can flush out of the hills (they call ‘em knobs) of Indiana.

Today was quite hot and sticky but I made good time out to the Howard Steamboat Museum in Jeff and back. I cut about 3 minutes off of my best time so far and was I was generally pleased. I passed a roadie around Colgate and got the wave. I wonder were he was headed?
