I had been off of the bike for almost a week attending to work and my Ryder Cup “responsibilities” of playing and watching golf. I spent the day Saturday at Valhalla watching ‘merica put it to the Brits, etc.

The weather was just perfect at lunchtime on this, the first day of autumn. I headed out toward the Corydon Pike for a bit of open road riding. I really just wasn’t feeling it. I had a pretty blah ride and was glad to make it back to work. The only event of note occurred on the small stretch of 111 coming into New Albany. Some miscreants were headed the other direction on the sidewalk riding BMX bikes. They were giving me a blank look that I responded with the proverbial head nod. When the lead dude got even with me he turned and screamed “HALE YEAH!!”. It pretty much scared the crap out of me. It is already a shaky stretch and a bit unnerving. Oh well – from there it was just off to the river.

I originally contemplated heading to the finest coffee shop in the ‘ville but it ended up being 10 miles each way. So I will leave that for another day.
